This report presents the findings from Amnesty International’s Staff Wellbeing Review in 2018/19. The review was commissioned following the deaths of two staff members in the International Secretariat, which brought the organisation’s work culture and staff wellbeing into question. The review found that in general, Amnesty’s efforts to support staff wellbeing had been ad hoc, reactive, and insufficient. The report provides six key recommendations for better supporting the wellbeing of staff, as well as basic guidance and a timeline for the different sections in Amnesty to implementing the recommendations.
