Case management is the process by which organisations receive and respond to safeguarding/sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment (SEAH) concerns.

Case management procedures ensure everyone understands the steps in dealing with safeguarding/SEAH incidents and allegations, including referral of criminal matters to national authorities as necessary and appropriate. These procedures must be informed by the local legal and social welfare context for protection. That includes details of referral pathways in relation to, for example, national authorities, and survivor services.  The survivor’s rights, needs, and wishes must be prioritised and all parties involved must be treated with dignity and respect.

The safety and protection of everyone involved in safeguarding cases is paramount.
