BOND has published results of a recent survey among its members on safeguarding which shows significant improvements. 95% of respondents said their knowledge has increased and 89% said they noticed improved practice in their organisaitons. NGOs are also investing into safeguarding: 64% of respondents mentioned increased resourcing mostly in staff time and training. With all this however, there is still work to be done, according to the article. Resources are still tight for effectively implementing and embedding safeguarding across all programmes, while it is also difficult to measure the organisaitonal culture, the expertise and sensitivity dealing with cases, and whether the processes are functioning well.

More needs to be done in terms of keeping perpetrators out of the sector, especially through checks internationally or checks of frontline workers and more push is needed for a sector-wide change that is survivor-centred and well-resourced.
