PSEA glossary, why does language matter?

Using the right words shows respect, promotes trust and enables people to be heard. The wrong words can stigmatise, shame and even re-traumatise people.

That’s why we’ve taken part in an interagency collaboration to produce a glossary on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse. This multilingual PSEA Glossary will help people to report and resolve their problems, to understand their rights, and to trust that their experiences are being taken seriously.

The organisations involved in building this landmark resource include CLEAR Global, the International Organization for Migration, the Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub (RSH), CDAC Network, CHS Alliance, UNICEF and other members of the Inter-Agency Standing Committee.
