The IASC principles provide a useful basis for organisations to develop policies and procedures for preventing and responding to sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment. The principles provide clarity on what constitutes sexual exploitation and abuse, how this is defined as misconduct which needs to be clear in organisational codes of conduct. This is a plain-language Amharic version of the principles which has removed legal jargon and complex sentence structures to make the rules explicit and clear, making the meaning more accessible to the majority of aid workers and affected community members.
