Janet Ifunanya Anaele is a child protection- (CP), sexual and gender based violence- (SGBV), social Inclusion-, psychosocial Support- (PSS) and safeguarding professional in both humanitarian and development settings.
She has worked with different INGOs and NGOs/CBOs providing technical leadership, capacity building trainings including developing and quality assuring trainings materials on protection and safeguarding. She has supported organizations to create and integrate safeguarding culture into programme activities including proposal development. Janet has provided guidance to programme team on safe programming including designing tools, conducting research on emerging risk and developing mitigation strategy.
Additionally, she is highly skilled in providing survivor-centred case management support and facilitating safe and confidential referrals for available services as needed by the survivor. She is a certified CP/GBV Case Management Trainer with UNFPA/UNICEF and a member of the GBV case management pool of trainers Nigeria. She also accrued huge skills in using IASC case management guidelines in ensuring that children and women are safe and protected both physically and emotionally from sexual exploitation, abuse and sexual harassment, while putting confidentiality into consideration.
Janet works in English, as well as having a working proficiency in Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba.
