Siobhan is a safeguarding and child protection expert with 20 plus years’ experience in the sector, and a seniority and depth of global management experience. She works in a global capacity but also has working experience throughout Asia, Africa, MENA, and North America. She is currently a safeguarding trustee with War Child UK and a standing member of their Audit and Risk Committee. Siobhan’s work portfolio includes managing a national alternative care and disability programme with UNICEF Viet Nam and leading a global child safeguarding programme at the British Council between 2010-19. She has a successful track record of applying quality and accountability standards to organisational practice and delivering a whole organisational culture change programme for safeguarding.
Siobhan became a consultant in April 2019; since then she has worked with a variety of INGOs and institutional donors providing a range of services including strengthening policy and procedure, developing, and delivering trainings and conducting organisational reviews and due diligence reviews. Siobhan is a qualified educator with a Practice Teachers Award from London Metropolitan University. She is a strong communicator and has extensive experience in content design and delivery of safeguarding and protection training to diverse audiences worldwide. At the British Council, she successfully developed and rolled out globally three child safeguarding e-learning courses for staff, managers, and designated safeguarding leads. Siobhan has a master’s degree in social work and is currently a registered social worker with the regulatory body Social Work England. She is an experienced SEA investigator and has led on serious and complex cases, including multi-country investigations, and has conducted case reviews. Siobhan provides services in English.
