Zeina El Khoury is a quality-driven Safeguarding, Protection and Child Protection Adviser with over twelve years of experience working with international organizations, and an extensive background in the Humanitarian Context in the Middle East and West Africa.

Throughout the course of her career, she has designed, implemented and trained on Safeguarding, Protection and Child Protection strategies, tools, systems and procedures. Zeina has worked with international organizations in both development and relief contexts, engaging with community groups of diverse background, refugees’ and host communities within various cultural environments.

Zeina contributed as a Safeguarding Expert with IMC, NRC, SOS, FDCD, CARE, SIF and delivered PSEA global trainings to NRC Jordan, Care International leadership teams in West Africa and DOT teams in Lebanon and Jordan.

She was deployed as a Lead PSEA investigator in Iraq, South Sudan and Syria. Zeina invested in learning and contributing to the fields of Safeguarding, Protection, Child Protection and MHPSS, managing different protection and psychosocial projects, then becoming an expert developing CP, PSS, Life Skills and Parenting curriculums for WVL, AMEL, Right to Play, Plan International in Lebanon and Jordan as well as Unicef in Syria.

Zeina contributed as a technical advisor feeding in evaluations in the areas of Child Protection and MHPSS (International and Arabic speaker) with WVL, NRC, UNICEF and AMEL.

Zeina masters key frameworks and guidelines relevant to the Child protection, MHPSS and Gender, with a focus on protection from violence against children in displacement settings, including child labor and child marriage, and inter-sectoral issues of violence in schools.

Zeina is known as an honest, flexible and organized person, able to work within a team structure. She holds an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from Fordham University.

She is fluent in written and spoken English, Arabic and French.
