Under the supervision of the Nairobi-based DREEM Project Director, the Gender and Safeguarding Officer will work closely in collaboration with the WUSC team in Kenya, the Canada-based WUSC Advisory Team and the Mastercard Foundation team.
Main responsibilities of the position:
● Develops and manages the DREEM GESI Strategy and program safeguarding work for all aspects of the DREEM project;
● Provides technical advice and guidance, ensuring an intersectional approach and up-to-date safeguarding guidance across the DREEM program;
● Identifies and mitigates risks and ensures the protection, security safety of all personnel, partners and beneficiaries
● Develops the appropriate mechanisms for periodic GESI and safeguarding reviews and adaptations;
● Develops and delivers training on gender analyses, gender-responsive programming and policies across the DREEM network, providing direct coaching and capacity support as needed;
● Support partners in developing safeguarding policies and supporting broader safeguarding efforts across the region, etc.
