The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT) wants to get investment, recognition and support behind young people, so they can achieve more. Through our digital platforms, we share ideas, inspiration and resources. Our grants help social entrepreneurs to expand their offer, get seen by other funders and strengthen their operations. Our network connects and collaborates on new thinking and innovation, sharing practical support and insights so more problems can be solved. Safeguarding those we support and work with sits at the heart of our work and is fundamental to our mission and values.  We are committed to operating with the highest integrity when it comes to keeping safe those who come into contact with QCT and QCT-supported projects.

We are looking to appoint a Safeguarding Consultant to provide safeguarding support to QCT and to those we work with through a draw-down arrangement for which specific Statements of Work will be developed. We would expect the Safeguarding Consultant to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current regulatory requirements in the UK, and international SEAH standards that apply to partners working in Commonwealth countries. We expect the Safeguarding Consultant to have experience, specifically with regards to the international development sector, of:

o    Developing safeguarding policies, systems and processes for INGOs and grassroot organisations;

o    Building safeguarding capacity and understanding; and

o    Working with small grassroots organisations in the global south.
