The development sector in recent years has been working to strengthen safeguarding practices. However, there has been a clear gap in ensuring that safeguarding policy and practices within organisations are inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities, this is despite the fact that evidence has shown that persons with disability are more vulnerable to abuse.

The objective of the webinar is that organisations learn about how to take into consideration disability inclusion principles within their safeguarding processes. The webinar also highlights the importance of disability inclusion in an organisation safeguarding policy and processes, addressing as well, accessible reporting mechanisms and programme reporting checklist.

The Panellists share insights on their own safeguarding procedures which are inclusive for persons with disabilities, they also share the challenges and successes of an inclusive approach to safeguarding and demonstrate how organisations can develop more inclusive safeguarding processes within their organisations.
