The webinar will aim to provide a general overview of the history of sexual harassment within the aid sector. Contributing to the discussion, are two speakers.
The first is a safeguarding and Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment (PSEAH) expert with experience spanning various regions within the aid sector. The second speaker will represent the point of views of local Syrian organisations as a safeguarding and protection expert that has worked on the Syrian Emergency Response for the past ten years.
The session will inform the audience about key moments and incidents that shaped the current response to incidents of sexual harassment on a global level, and why it should be receiving more attention, as well as challenges encountered in addressing it.
The webinar will also ensure the representation of the Syria-specific point of view by sharing an overview of history of sexual harassment within the Syrian context, discussing past and current initiatives that aimed to address it, and the challenges encountered in successfully tackling sexual harassment as an issue within the Syrian aid sector. We will also allow for the audience to share their questions to the panelists.
